Eurocoms has been appointed as the main contractor for the ICT infrastructure at the new stadium for Rotherham United Football Club. The New York Stadium development marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of Rotherham and will provide a whole host of future opportunities and investment into the South Yorkshire area.
The stadium is being built on the old Guest and Chrimes foundry site in the heart of Rotherham. Groundwork’s on the site is imminent with the main stadium construction taking place in Summer 2011 ready for completion by the 2012/13 season.
Chairman of Rotherham United, Tony Stewart commented:
“This stadium will be an iconic figure right at the centre of Rotherham and its facilities and unique design will stand up against any stadium in the country. The stadium will not only benefit this football club but will provide the centre piece of significant regeneration in Rotherham.”
Eurocoms will be installing close to 500 Brand Rex Cat6 data outlets, over 1500m of fibre and the WIFI network for stadium internet services.
